Campus and Residence Facilities

Stenden South Africa provides accommodation for students on campus, subject to availability. Most rooms are en suite, have ample living and studying space, and are equipped to guarantee comfortable living. Single and double accommodation is available. As there is not enough accommodation on campus for all students, Stenden South Africa also provides accommodation off campus to students. This accommodation is within walking  distance of the campus and features similar levels of comfort and security as the on-campus accommodation. There are small lounges, which can be use by small groups of students, on campus.

The hostel gardens have beautiful views of the sea, marina and town. Braai facilities are available for student functions and can be organised through the SRC or with the campus supervisor.

These are the facilities we have on campus:

Campus has a view of the sea, and the beach is within walking distance

What better way to centre yourself after a busy practical or test than a sea view? Stenden South Africa has a magnificent sea view from the campus grounds, and students can reach the beach after only a short walk. Take time off from study sessions and in between classes to enjoy a gentle stroll on the beach or to meditate by watching the ocean’s waves. On summer days, the beach tempts students to cool off in the waves and work on their tans in the sun.

Town, restaurants and nightlife are all within walking distance

Stenden South Africa is just a short distance from some of Port Alfred’s most loved restaurants, pubs and clubs. Students can enjoy nights out on the town or dinners at restaurants after just a short walk. Let your hair down at one of Port Alfred’s nightclubs, and celebrate birthdays by enjoying a drink or meal in one of the restaurants off campus.

Themed evenings organised by the “Den @ Stenden”, the student bar, are often extended by a local establishments who take on the theme for the evening too. Stenden South Africa students are also offered specials by many restaurants and local establishments in town.

Students are encouraged to drink responsibility, and after a night out they can walk back to their dormitories.
