Nemato Boxing Academy

In 2004, Mbulelo Veto initiated the Nemato Boxing Academy in cooperation with Zane Bijl (Stenden South Africa student). Momentarily, 5 signed professional boxers, about 10 amateur cadets boxers and 8 amateur seniors are training at the gym and joining competitions in the area for their overall goal of winning a title in the competitions (i.e. Eastern Cape Champion). The Stenden South Africa CDO has been supporting the academy by arranging boxing events, transport and providing expertise and equipment. Moreover, the student Zane Bijl got involved in fundraising activities and creating awareness about boxing in town, in order to build a proper gym in the city center of Port Alfred and receive the necessary equipment. With the appropriate facilities the amateurs can then be trained to become semi-professionals.
